Struck by a downer today I decided on an evening trip to the National Theatre to see Jonathan Miller’s exhibition. Stumbled across this in the bookshop. HAD TO HAVE IT. Because when it comes to Cook and Moore and Bennett and Miller, I am a massive nerd.
Browsing the Jonathan Miller tag, found this. Wish Tumblr had a date stamp, but it must’ve been in September 2011 ‘cause this photo’s taken in the Goring flat. If I’d’ve had any money, I would’ve come away from that exhibition empoverished.
Peter Capaldi wrote and starred in a mockumentary about a fictional British film studio, Cricklewood Greats. The silent era stuff is great, but it loses focus a bit later on. An entertaining watch. Some really funny jokes.
Tim Dempsey was a great character. The only bit I struggled with was the obvious Kenneth Williams bit. Uncomfortably close to the bone for a few minutes.
